The number one reason why you're not an artist

For the last 11 months, I've made a big journey in my life. I can't say it's over... it might never end, actually! Because for the first time in years, I realised I had to answer one question:

Who am I? 

You know? I realise, must of us don't even know who we are. We let others decide, and push us, to become what they want us to be. Parents, for example. "You have to finish school. You have to marry. You have to be a mom." And... even though they (we) have good intentions... they are wrong. 

Parents are guides. They must be there to help you answer that one question. 

Who are you? 

Because you will have to walk your own road, you know? 

To me, for example, was really hard. What I really wanted to do in life was to be a writter. But everything and everyone around me convinced me that it was too hard to achieve. That I will not make a living from that. And that I had to have a plan B. 

Guess what? 

I ended up with the plan B. And yet... I don't have a successful life. In fact, I was really miserable for a very long time! But I made everything right... I finished school, I married, I had a kid. And still, I wasn't happy. 

Why? 

Because that wasn't me. I mean... I wanted part of those things... but not they way I got them. 

The problem was, I never took the time to say: "You know what? I don't care what people say or think. I want "x" in life, and I will work for that". 

I got scared. 

Now, after a whole year of hard moments, tears and even work loss... I realise, I will have to start form scratch. But this time, I know who I am. And what I want. 

So, stop listening to other peoples fears and making them yours. You want something in your life? Go for it! Like... right now!
